Mitchelle Mwendwa Kobia is a dedicated Legal Assistant at Njaga & Co. Advocates, specialising in environmental law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. Her academic and professional journey reflects a strong commitment to advancing sustainable legal practices and corporate responsibility.
Mitchelle holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree with Second Class Upper Division honours from Strathmore University. She has furthered her expertise through specialised training, including certifications in Climate Law and Governance from Middlesex University Dubai and Sustainable Development Goals and the Law from the University of Cambridge.
Professionally, Mitchelle has amassed experience across various esteemed organisations. At OGO-LAW Advocates, she conducted extensive legal research on environmental policies and corporate compliance. Her role involved drafting legal opinions and supporting advisory services in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) law.
During her tenure with the Savannah Green Initiative, Mitchelle engaged in policy analysis related to environmental governance, contributing to procedural documents and stakeholder briefing materials. Her consultancy with Strathmore Law School and GIZ involved translating the Kenyan Data Protection Act into Swahili and Kikuyu and analysing data protection legislation across the East African Community.
Mitchelle’s internship experiences at the Kenya Revenue Authority and the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) provided her with insights into corporate risk management, tax compliance, and environmental regulation enforcement.
